PDMS enhances maritime expertise with DW Maritime

We are delighted to announce that our maritime and registry expertise has been further strengthened by contracting DW Maritime as an Independent Maritime Advisor.

DW Maritime is a consultancy run by Dick Welsh MBE. With over 40 years maritime experience, as a marine engineer, Class and Flag State Surveyor and Director of the Isle of Man Ship Registry, Dick is a hugely respected and well-known figure in the global maritime sector.  

Dick was the driving force behind the Isle of Man Ship Registry. During his time as Director, he forged its global and class-leading reputation including leading its digital transformation before his retirement in late 2019. In recognition of his outstanding contribution to the sector, he was awarded a well-deserved MBE in 2019 and the Maritime Ambassador’s Award from Mersey Maritime in March 2020.

Maritime at PDMS

PDMS has considerable experience in the maritime sector, including providing software and services for highly successful and leading global ship registries. PDMS are an active member of the Isle of Man maritime community, read more about PDMS involvement here. Our Director Bruce McGregor regularly attends key international maritime events such as London International Shipping Week (LISW) and Posidonia, and he is a member on the Executive Board of Isle of Man Maritime.

As an Independent Advisor to PDMS, Dick Welsh will be working closely with Bruce and our business development team to expand and enhance our maritime expertise. Dick will help to facilitate and enhance relationships with new and existing clients and work with us to identify opportunities where PDMS’ digital expertise can add value.
