Championing skills for a digital future

PDMS is pleased to share that Jane Dellar, our Account Manager working with UK public sector organisations, has been elected to the techUK Education and EdTech Council. This appointment reflects not only Jane’s deep-rooted commitment to the skills agenda but also PDMS’s long-standing involvement in supporting education and employability through innovative technology.

A lifelong advocate for skills and opportunity

Jane’s career has been shaped by a passion for helping people reach their full potential. With nearly three decades of experience spanning education, economic development, and digital transformation, she brings a unique and comprehensive perspective to the Council.

From her early days as a professional qualification tutor to her leadership roles at the Bahrain Economic Development Board, Isle of Man Government, and Chamber of Commerce, Jane has consistently focused on aligning education with real-world needs. Her work has always been grounded in the belief that access to the right skills can transform lives and communities.

At PDMS, Jane works with local authorities and public sector organisations, helping them deliver better outcomes through technology. As Product Owner for our employment and skills platform, she collaborates with Combined Authorities and County Councils to provide digital “front doors” to regional programmes such as Skills Bootcamps, Skills for Life, Restart, and apprenticeships. These platforms are designed to improve access to careers advice, support transitions into work, and address skills gaps across the UK.

Driving change through collaboration

Jane’s appointment to the techUK Education and EdTech Council is a natural extension of her work at PDMS. She is committed to using this platform to amplify the collective voice of the tech industry in shaping the future of UK education. Her focus will be on fostering stronger industry partnerships, aligning curricula with workplace digital skills needs, and ensuring that EdTech solutions are scalable and sustainable beyond the pilot stage.

She also brings valuable insights from her work with the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE), now transitioning into Skills England. Her understanding of Occupational Maps, technical education pathways, and career progression frameworks will complement the collective expertise of the new Council.

PDMS: A trusted partner in skills, careers and employability

Jane’s appointment also highlights PDMS’s broader expertise in the skills sector. We have a long history of working with national and regional partners to support education and workforce development. Our collaborations with organisations such as IfATE and Skills Development Scotland have helped shape digital solutions that connect people with opportunities and support lifelong learning.

Our skills and employability hubs, developed in partnership with local authorities, are a testament to our commitment to help local authorities empower residents to make informed career decisions and close skills gaps. These platforms not only streamline access to training and employment programmes but also promote social value by supporting work experience, careers advice, STEM events, and youth development initiatives.

As Social Value Lead at PDMS, Jane has played a key role in shaping our pledges to support young people and underrepresented groups in accessing careers in technology.

Looking ahead

Jane’s role on the techUK Education and EdTech Council reflects PDMS’ commitment to using technology to positively influence the evolving skills landscape and ensuring alignment between education, training and careers opportunities.

We look forward to supporting Jane in this new role and to continuing our work with partners across the UK to deliver meaningful, measurable impact in the skills and education space.
