Net Zero Isle of Man is dedicated to combating climate change and protecting the planet by focusing on critical areas such as home appliances, energy, and transport. With the Isle of Man committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, Net Zero aims to foster a collective effort among residents and businesses to innovate and adopt sustainable practices. Their strategy involves ensuring that everyone on the island understands the implications of climate change and actively contributes to the transition to net zero through concrete actions that reduce emissions. 

The challenge 

Previous website was not providing maximum impact 

Net Zero Isle of Man faced a significant challenge in effectively communicating their mission and engaging the local community. They needed a user-friendly website that could be easily updated with relevant information and serve as a central hub for their initiatives. The goal was to create a platform that would not only inform but also inspire and mobilise the island’s residents and businesses to participate in the journey towards carbon neutrality. 

The solution 

New website enables freedom of content 

PDMS provided a comprehensive solution by designing and developing a brand-new website for Net Zero Isle of Man. This dedicated website was tailored to meet their specific needs, allowing them to have complete control over their content. The new platform was designed to be dynamic and engaging, enabling Net Zero to share crucial information about climate change and the environment in a visually appealing and accessible manner.

The project 

The project began with a thorough understanding of Net Zero’s goals and target audience. PDMS worked closely with Net Zero to create a website that not only met their current needs but also had the potential to grow with their initiatives. Key features of the website include: 

  • Content Management System (CMS): The website is equipped with an intuitive CMS, allowing Net Zero to easily update and manage content without technical assistance. 

  • Blog and news sections: Dedicated areas for blog posts and news updates ensure that visitors are kept informed about the latest developments, events, and insights related to climate change and sustainability. 

  • Events page: A calendar feature allows Net Zero to promote upcoming events and encourage community participation. 

  • Social media integration: Plans are in place to set up social media channels to drive traffic to the website and facilitate two-way engagement with the island’s residents and businesses.

The results

The launch of the new website marked a significant milestone for Net Zero Isle of Man. The platform has enabled them to effectively communicate their message, engage with the community and drive their mission forward with the Island's commitment to achieving net zero by 2050. Key outcomes include:
