Joining up employment, skills, education and work experience in the Isle of Man through one time saving portal

The online portal now addresses the needs of individuals, local businesses, and public and third sector organisations with an interest in the local labour market.

It has improved collaboration between Isle of Man schools, colleges, employers, government agencies and charities, ensuring all their efforts are joined up via one central, shared portal. This innovative initiative supports entry and promotion within the world of work and provides lifelong training and careers-related guidance and opportunities.

Powered by the SignedUp platform, consists of a user-friendly website which provides resources, guidance and insight into the world of work integrated with a portal which organisations can use to provide a range of services from running recruitment campaigns, through to administering apprenticeship and school work placements or managing memberships.

People on the Island use the site to find out careers information, search and apply for local jobs, internships and apprenticeships and manage their CVs, safe in the knowledge that they own and control their own homepage

Work experience placements in the Island’s secondary schools are now also managed via Schools, students, parents and employers use to support the entire work placement process from uploading placement opportunities right through to ensuring that the appropriate Health & Safety checks have been carried out.

Jobs and opportunities feeds from are also published on other third party websites and the platform is driving a number of local websites and portals including the Construction Federation and the Awareness in Careers Engineering websites.
