PDMS Clients win Government Computing Awards
We are delighted to announce that the NHS Purchasing and Supply Agency's Pan Government Car Leasing Portal, developed by PDMS, has won a prestigious Government Computing 2009 Award.
The car leasing portal project beat some stiff competition to win the Shared Services category at a gala award ceremony held in London on 20th May. The GC 2009 awards are organised by Kable, part of the Guardian Group. Now in its 13th year, the GC Awards - rewarding excellence in public sector IT (previously GC Awards for innovation) are the original and most prestigious awards for using technology to raise the game in public services. They were established to highlight the excellent work done by public servants across the UK, and to disseminate the projects' contributions to best practice.
The innovative website went live in July 2008 and supports the 2007 Pan Government Lease of Car and Car Derived (CDV) framework, offering a range of services from nine approved suppliers. The quotation system pulls live pricing information from each participating supplier's website, based on search criteria, and displays them in an easy to read table making comparison of prices quick and easy. It is believed to be the first public sector website of its kind in the UK, providing live pricing information straight from the supplier to the user with a click of a button.
Congratulations too, to the Police National Legal Database Team, whose Police National Statistics Database project (also developed by PDMS) was also highly commended in the Shared Services Category.
