Isle of Man Chamber of Commerce has announced that local technology company PDMS has become its first strategic partner.

As a strategic partner, over the next three years PDMS will make a substantial contribution to the work that Chamber is undertaking to support local businesses and grow the economy by working closely with the Chamber’s Chief Executive, Board and Steering Group. In addition, PDMS will provide significant input to Chamber’s knowledge bank and provide formal mentoring for its members.

The Chamber of Commerce is committed to supporting local entrepreneurs and business start-ups. As a result of the financial contribution made by PDMS, this will allow the organisation to offer these businesses free membership for one year.

Chris Gledhill, Managing Director and co-founder of PDMS, commented: “PDMS has been an active member of the Chamber for many years and we are delighted to be providing additional support as a strategic partner. Chamber’s work plays a huge part in growing and diversifying the Island’s business community. As a strategic partner, PDMS is looking forward to bringing our digital innovation and transformation expertise to help benefit both the Chamber and its members.”

Rebecca George, Chamber’s Chief Executive, said: “We’re delighted to welcome PDMS as our first strategic partner.  Chris and PDMS have been great supporters of Chamber for many years, and this long-term commitment means that they will make an even more significant contribution to supporting our work to help established businesses, new businesses, and entrepreneurs, which all helps the economy to grow and thrive. In addition to providing financial support as a strategic partner, PDMS are rebuilding the www.iomchamber.org.im website and creating a microsite for our recently launched Business Connex service.”

With over 25 years of experience in software engineering in both the public and private sector, PDMS employs over 80 people across offices in the Isle of Man and Glasgow. PDMS collaborates with clients to design, develop and support digital solutions including enterprise business systems, websites and mobile solutions.

Business Connex is a joint initiative between Isle of Man Chamber of Commerce and the Department for Enterprise. It is a facilitation service designed to support local businesses and entrepreneurs on the Island, and to help businesses, entrepreneurs and individuals who have decided to relocate here.
