PDMS host table for the 48th Trafalgar Ball

PDMS were delighted to be able to attend and host a table at the King George's Fund for Sailors (KGFS) on Friday - for the 48th Trafalgar Ball, at the Palace Hotel and Casino.

The KGFS is the working name for the Seafarers UK charity, which has been helping seafarers since 1917 after it was founded by King George V.  The charity is the only central fund that makes grants to nautical charities and that looks after the welfare needs of seafarers and their dependants in the Royal Navy, Merchant Navy and the Fishing Fleet.  Such welfare assistance includes the care of the elderly seafarers, financial help for seafarers with ill health, disability, homelessness, unemployment, broken homes and bereavement. Seafarers' children also benefit with help in education.

The guest and eminent speaker for the evening was Sir Alan Massey, Chief Executive of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA).

Bruce McGregor, Director of PDMS commented, "PDMS were delighted to be able to host a table at this year's Annual Ball.  It was a spectacular evening and it was a great to hear such positive comments about the IOM and the success of its Ship Registry, from such an distinguished speaker as Sir Alan Massey, and to take the opportunity to catch up with some of our Isle of Man based maritime clients as well as raise funds for a worthwhile charity".
