Business Support Scheme accredited![]() PDMS has been accredited by the Isle of Man Government's Department of Trade and Industry to provide IT and e-commerce consultancy services under their Business Support Scheme. What is the Business Support Scheme? The Isle of Man Government's Department of Trade and Industry seeks to create opportunities for Isle of Man based businesses by providing specialist advice and financial support. Under their Business Support Scheme, eligible companies can claim financial assistance for up to 50% of the cost of the consultancy (up to a pre-determined limit). The scheme is project managed by the University of Salford Enterprises Limited (USE). How the scheme works?Once you have applied for assistance under the BSS the Scheme Manager will arrange for a Business Development Consultant (BDC) to visit you to carry out a free of charge strategic review of your business. This review will be made available to you in the form of a report, which is yours to keep. If you wish to proceed with a BSS project a copy of the BDC's report will be sent to the BSS Manager who will match your needs to one of the listed consultants accredited to work on the scheme. Alternatively, you may request a particular accredited consultant, e.g. PDMS The consultant will then work with you in order to formulate a detailed project, and to produce an agreed Terms of Reference. The Terms of Reference will contain a detailed program of work together with a work schedule against which the project can be monitored. The BSS Manager will approve the terms of reference, oversee the project and be available to help at all times. Once complete the DTI will pay 50% of the cost of the project to a maximum of £4500 assistance. You will pay the other 50%. No payment will be made until you are satisfied with the work carried out. Who is eligible? Most companies, providing that they export products or services, operating in industry sectors such as manufacturing, retail, distribution, catering, construction and some services such as IT are eligible. Some companies operating in financial services are also eligible for grant assistance under the scheme.
