Green Apple Award Win for Isle of Man Government Waste Oil Project

We are delighted to announce that the Isle of Man Government's waste oil disposal scheme, which is managed via a website developed and hosted by PDMS, has won a prestigious Green Apple environmental award. The Isle of Man Government was declared UK national champion in the sustainable waste management category at a prize-giving ceremony in London, hosted by UK Trade and Industry Secretary, Patricia Hewitt.

The Green Apple awards are run by the Green Organisation, a non-profit making body, and the awards themselves are an annual international campaign to recognise, reward and promote environmental best practice around the world. The innovative waste oil disposal scheme, a joint initiative between the Isle of Man Government's Department of Local Government and the Environment (DLGE) and container company Metano, is now eligible for entry into the European Environment Awards.
