PDMS receive certification to new International Security Standard

PDMS are pleased to announce that they have been awarded certification to the International Security standard ISO/IEC 27001:2005 (BS 7799) by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance.
BS 7799 was first introduced in the UK by the Department of Trade and Industry in 1995 to offer best practice and guidance in information security management. Outlining standards specific to information security management, the standard focuses on areas such as security policy, physical and environmental security, access control and business continuity management. It is now internationally recognised as a useful management tool in the battle against a wide range of information security hazards.
In October 2005 BS 7799 part 2, was revised and formally adopted as a new international standard, ISO/IEC 27001:2005. PDMS are one of the first companies on the Isle of Man to be assessed and certified against this new updated standard.
Chris Gledhill, Managing Director commented “Being awarded ISO/IEC 27001:2005 demonstrates that we not only take security seriously, but that we properly safeguard all employee, customer and commercial data throughout the organization”. He continued “It gives PDMS customers and partners confidence that the company has implemented the optimal safeguards and reflects our ongoing investment in our managed services capabilities”.
PDMS, who have also implemented an ISO 9001:2000 certified quality system, are now working towards achieving ISO20000-1:2005, the quality standard for IT service delivery.
