New & improved home page for Government Website

The Isle of Man Government has today launched a new and improved home page for their successful website (www.gov.im). The new home page features an attractive new design but, importantly, navigation has been focused on three key categories of user, namely Residents, Businesses and Visitors.

With over 1.5 million visitors to the website in 2002, it is essential that visitors can find the information they are looking for quickly and easily. The new navigational structure together with additional features such as Quick Links will improve the user experience for anyone seeking information on the Government or indeed the Isle of Man in general. The new design also features Breaking News and a What's New section, updated on a daily basis, to keep the content on the home page fresh and topical.

The Information Systems Division have worked closely with PDMS to develop the new home page which uses the latest XML technology. The further development of the Internet site is an integral part of the Isle of Man's e-Government Strategy JUPITER and the launch of the new home page marks the beginning of an important new phase of development for www.gov.im.
