Managing our relationship with you Over the full lifecycle of a business application(s) there are many different aspects to the relationship between a client organisation and its technology partners. To be truly successful it is necessary to excel at both the strategic level in understanding how to improve overall business outcomes, and at the day to day technical level in support of individual users. Each of these aspects requires its own skills and disciplines which we have developed as part of our overall approach. Partnership support Each client has an Account Manager, this will be a senior member of the PDMS team with the authority and experience to provide ongoing consultancy and business support, as well as being able to deal effectively with any tactical issues which may arise during the course of a project. The Account Manager provides the primary point of contact in the long term and is responsible for understanding the developing business needs of the client, as well as keeping the client up to date with new opportunities and developments within PDMS. Managing projects We regard project management as one of the core skills in software engineering and take a project based approach to all of our developments. This ensures that there is effective control of timescales and budgets and also helps to keep in check the inevitable scope creep which blights so many software projects. We have a well defined project lifecycle methodology which is compatible with most standard systems such as PRINCE2. Supporting applications On going application support and maintenance is provided by a dedicated team, and we have a number of different support packages to cover different requirements from a simple pay as you go approach to a fully managed service. Managed services Increasingly our clients and the industry in general are seeing the benefits of fully managed services in which key applications are hosted by third party suppliers who can provide higher levels of reliability, performance and technical support than would be available in house. Foundations ^TM applications have been engineered from the ground up to be deployed over the web and consequently they can be deployed very cost effectively from our state of the art hosting facilities. The services we offer include both fully hosted solutions and also the provision of back up sites for business continuity (disaster recovery) purposes.
