PDMS is a software development company with particular expertise in browser-based business systems. From our offices in Castletown and London, we provide clients with a comprehensive range of services from strategic consultancy to long term hosting and support. We have over 15 years’ experience and our technical team has expertise in many different technologies and platforms. We have also developed the Foundations ^TM technology platform for use in complex business systems.

To support our continued expansion, we are looking to recruit new members into our team at our Castletown office. A number of specific positions are currently available, but we are always keen to hear from ambitious IT professionals looking to come and work in an industrious but informal environment.

Infrastructure specialist

£ Salary negotiable according to experience

The ideal candidate for this role will be looking to build on an existing practical working knowledge of Cisco routers, firewalls and switches, HP ProLiant servers, and Microsoft operating systems. We operate an advanced network, and so knowledge of any of the following areas would also be advantageous – but not prerequisite:

General understanding of IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, HTTP, SMTP, NAT, VPNs Ethernet Switching, MPLS, IP Routing including OSPF and BGP VoIP including SIP, Cisco CallManager and Voice Gateways Management of HP ProLiant and StorageWorks infrastructure Network and Server Security Microsoft Windows Server 2003/08 including Active Directory and Virtualization	Microsoft SQL Server 2000/05/08 including Reporting, Analysis and Integration Services, Replication Microsoft Systems Centre Suite including Operations Manager, Data Protection Manager Microsoft Team Foundation Server 2005/08 Microsoft IIS 6/7 Microsoft Exchange 2003/07 An understanding of ISO9001:2000 and ISO/IEC 27001

Above all, a readiness to learn and embrace new technology in a challenging environment is more important than specific product knowledge, but this is not a role for a trainee just setting out on a career in IT. There may also be an requirement to participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota.

Experienced developer

£ Salary negotiable according to experience

This role will suit a developer with five or more years of relevant development experience. Although we work primarily with Microsoft C#.NET our approach draws on a wide range of influences from industry, the open source community and academia, and as such a strong working knowledge of Object Oriented principles and architecture is more important than specific product knowledge. If you have a proven background in C++, Java, Smalltalk, Ruby or similar, and would like to contribute to the ongoing development and use of a modern web-centric application framework, we would like to hear from you.

Knowledge of any of the following would also be considered beneficial:

Microsoft Team Foundation Server 2005/2008 Microsoft Visual Studio 2005/2008 Microsoft IIS 6/7 SQL, especially Microsoft SQL Server 2005 XML, XSLT, HTML	Javascript and Ajax techniques An understanding of IP-based networking and application-layer protocols such as HTTP Authoring of technical documentation Leadership and mentoring

In either of the above roles, you will join a team working in a relaxed but professional environment at our headquarters in Castletown. Salary will be commensurate with experience and expertise, and your package would also include a number of other benefits.
